Penticton offers many kinds of activities including skiing at the Apex Mountain Resort ski area, boating and fishing on Skaha Lake and Okanagan Lake, golfing on the area's many courses, hiking and biking the Kettle Valley Railway Trail, and rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs. During the summer many people also enjoy floating down the river channel that connects Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake.
Kiteboarding Penticton is gaining in popularity on the Okanagan Lake. Since there aren’t any shops that specialize in the equipment used for this extreme sport in Penticton many athletes travel to the US or (even better) come and see us at Squamish Watersports.
Rotary Beach is the only designated kitesurfing area here. On the one hand anyone who is interested in kiting here is encouraged to give the sport a try, but on the other hand a certain amount of space is needed from a safety standpoint. So rather than kiteboarding Penticton come and take a lesson with us at the Spit in Squamish where there is plenty of space.
