This course is done in 2 parts.

The first part is a one hour introductory video that covers all necessary theoretical knowledge for safe independent kiteboarding. In order to enhance your first water experience, we provide this video to you ahead of time to watch as many times as you want to feel confident in the skills that you will work on in the next part of the lesson.

The remaining 3 hours of your lesson will be done on the water with one of our experienced instructors in the beautiful Howe Sound. This section is hands on and fast paced to get you on the water and possibly riding faster than you have ever imagined.

Conditions of the group course:
– Group Lessons run May 1st to September 15th yearly only.
– Participants must be from 18 to 60 years of Age.
– Participants must be from 100 lbs to 260 lbs.

In our semi private lessons, pairs go out on a boat with 1 instructor and 1 kite. This option is great for people who would like to experience kiteboarding together and also people who are eager to not only experience hands on kiteboarding but also have the opportunity to learn while watching someone else develop the same skills they are working on. This lesson style also caters to people wanting a bit more of a relaxed learning style, taking photos/videos of each other and encouraging each other throughout their experience. One of the best options for a first lesson, many pairs continue learning together as they find the periodic breaks and learning style the most ideal for a steady and constant progression.

Encouraging the next generation to get into kiteboarding is what we are all about. We are happy to offer a discounted hourly rate for all kids 8- 14 years.

These lessons are designed as 1 on 1 experiences to cater to your child’s learning style and page. They include all necessary cold water and kiteboarding gear, they can be done in 2-3 hour chunks and will all be run by our highly experienced instructor team.

No restrictions apply and 1 parent can join on the boat as a spectator for free. Parents must stay on the boat for the entire time and will not be able to kite during the kids lessons.

Our Kids Kite Package is designed to give young riders a safe, fun, and structured introduction to kiteboarding.

Built for kids aged 8–14, this program focuses on steady progression through multiple coached sessions, allowing each rider to build confidence at their own pace.

Each lesson is fully supervised by our experienced instructor team and adapted to the child’s level, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Boat-assisted coaching maximizes time on the water and minimizes waiting, making every session efficient and engaging.

Sessions are typically scheduled in 2–3 hour blocks, depending on conditions. All necessary cold water and one set of kiteboarding gear is included. One parent can join the boat as a spectator free of charge. Parents must stay on the boat for the entire lesson and will not be able to participate during the kids’ lessons.

Learning new tricks with instruction will get you further and higher, faster than you had ever imagined. We’ve got the experts to help you learn anything you could imagine from wake-style, freeride to surf and big air! Advanced Riding Lessons valid for instructions on skills past the instructional Level 3 riding progression.

Minimum 2 hour lessons. This lesson can be shared amongst others with a min duration of 30 minutes per student and can be done in 2 or 3 hour lessons. Kite equipment rental not included in cost.

Instructor Requests: If you would like to request a specific instructor, please send us a message or add a note during booking. Instructor requests are by request only and cannot be guaranteed, as our instructors have different schedules and specialize in different activities. A premium fee applies for specific instructor requests due to the additional scheduling adjustments required. We will do our best to accommodate your preference and, if available, update your invoice with the instructor request fee and send a revised payment request.

This supervised drop is a shuttle to the Howe Sound and self launch conducted by our guides from the boat.

Supervised option:

Supervision and assistance is given in conjunction with a lesson, if you are in need of assistance, our team will come help you as quickly as possible but it is important that you have the suitable skills to stay safe and manage your equipment on your own.

First-time riders in Squamish need to book a mandatory supervised upwind drop to ensure a safe and enriching introduction to the area.

Unsupervised option:

No supervision is provided, you must stay in the riding area to be visible to our team. While staff may check for your position in the sound from time to time, they will not be watching adequately to notice any need for help.

Once you are certified to go out on your own, upwind drops are a great option to get more time on the water away from the congested area near the launch zone. To qualify for supervised and unsupervised drops, you must demonstrate full proficiency and independence in all key skills, including riding in all directions, particularly upwind.

All our customers are invited to use our amenities before and after the session.

EQUIPMENT
Upwind drops do not include the use of any of Squamish Watersports equipment. We do provide rentals for an additional charge. You are responsible for ensuring that your gear is in adequate condition for the experience.

IMPORTANT: If your gear has a malfunction on the water, you will have the choice to either rent our equipment if it is available on the water or be packed down and wait for the next ride in.

Additionally, if you are not able to demonstrate sufficient independence on the water, for your and others’ safety, you will be packed down and sent on the next boat returning to the marina.

Equipment rental includes all necessary gear for Kiteboarding including a wetsuit rental if needed. Rental is available for the 3-4 hour period associated with the upwind drop.

In order to qualify for this experience, you must be familiar with the necessary techniques to hold your ground on the water as well as ride amonghts others. Video footage of your riding must be presented to prove proficiency or be signed up by an instructor after your last lesson.

Proficiency Requirements

I am consistently able to stay upwind.
I am proficient in re-launching my kite.
I am proficient in upwind body dragging and am able to retrieve my board consistently.
I am able to complete a self rescue in deep waters.
I am able to enter and exit the water safely.
I am aware of all right of way rules and am comfortable riding amongst other users.
I am familiar with the local winds, current and hazards.
I understand that I am responsible for myself solely.

Amongst all our typical sizes we also have female specific and youth suits as small as size 8 youth. This 4-hour cold water gear rental also includes 5mm round toe booties  if you need them.

This package includes the full kite package of 1 kite + bar, 1 board, harness, leash, life vest and helmet. Wetsuit rentals available at an additional cost. The bar will be given to you managed and it must be set back this way upon your return. We are always available to help manage the bar for you at an additional cost.

Rental without using our upwind drop services is valid for intermediate to advanced riders only. Riders must be comfortable with entering and exiting the beach amongst many other water users as well as all other independent requirements.
