Please note that these sessions are designed to give you hands on sailing experience and help you learn the ropes over time, but they are not certification courses or formal sailing qualifications.

Each sailing experience can be tailored to your group, whether you’re looking for a relaxing scenic cruise, a romantic escape, a hands-on sailing experience, or an exciting day on the water. Help hoist the sails, learn the fundamentals of sailing, or simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the fresh sea air and spectacular views of Howe Sound.

Private sailing experiences have a minimum duration of 3 hours. We highly recommend 4 hours or more to enjoy a fuller experience and make the most of your time on the water.

For those looking for a more immersive adventure, longer and full-day sailing experiences are also available. Overnight charters aboard our 50ft Beneteau offer the opportunity to explore farther afield, learn navigation skills, and experience the magic of sailing after dark.

Depending on the boat and experience selected, your charter can also be enhanced with optional activities and amenities such as watersports equipment, lessons, fishing and crabbing, wildlife viewing, beach exploration, refreshments, and more. Our 50ft Beneteau also offers additional onboard comforts and facilities, including a hot shower.

Our 23ft TES 678 Versus accommodates up to 3 passengers, making it ideal for couples, small groups, and guests looking for a more intimate and hands-on sailing experience.

Foundation Course – Serve as a Crew Member on Sailboats up to 50 feet.

This course lays the groundwork for anyone new to sailing. You’ll learn how sailboats work, how to handle them safely, and how to assist in docking, anchoring, and emergency procedures. By the end of this training, you’ll be qualified to serve as a competent crew member on vessels up to 50 feet in length.

4 Hour Sailing Experiences

Intermediate Course – Take Command in Familiar Waters

Building on the skills learned in Competent Crew, the Day Skipper course prepares you to take the helm. You’ll deepen your sailing knowledge and learn to navigate your home waters within sight of land. Successful completion certifies you to skipper a vessel in moderate weather conditions.

Coastal Skipper is the capstone of the CRYA series, combining all previously learned skills into real-world coastal cruising scenarios. We offer in-depth instruction in all aspects of this advanced course, including passage planning, extended voyage preparation, and executing multi-day cruises. While we are not authorized to certify at this level, we can fully prepare you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to succeed when evaluated by a certified examiner.

Operator Requirements

This is a bareboat rental and is available to qualified sailors only. The designated operator must meet our sailing experience/licensing requirements and must have successfully completed a certification with one of our Sailing Instructors before qualifying to rent the vessel.

Operator approval and pre-authorization are required before the rental.

For experienced sailors looking for the freedom of a bareboat rental, our TES 678 Versus offers the perfect combination of performance, comfort, and maneuverability. At just under 7 metres, this surprisingly spacious sailboat is easy and enjoyable to handle while offering everything you need for a memorable day—or longer adventure—on the water.

Designed for both coastal and inland sailing, the TES 678 Versus delivers excellent nautical performance across a wide range of conditions. Its safe, ergonomic cockpit, retractable keel and thoughtfully designed sail plan make it a versatile boat for exploring the incredible waters surrounding Squamish and Howe Sound.

The boat comes equipped with a mainsail, storm jib and spinnaker, with the mainsail reinforced and modified for quick and easy reefing as conditions change. A convenient stack pack system makes sail handling simpler, and all sails are maintained in excellent condition.

For navigation, the boat is equipped with a Raymarine GPS plotting system with depth and speed information, wind instruments and all required night navigation lights.

A reliable motor, fuel tank, upgraded anchoring system and stern-tie setup give you additional flexibility when exploring, anchoring or spending time away from the marina.
