KNOWING HOW YOUR GEAR WORKS
The most important of the kiteboarding basics is for you to know how your gear works. This includes knowing how to set up your gear properly, knowing how to safely launch and land your kite, knowing how to safely control your kite and much more. You basically should know everything about your gear in order to be safe.

RIDING UPWIND
One of the very basics of kiteboarding is for you to be able to stay constantly upwind when riding your kite. Before you can be an independent rider, it is very important that you can ride and stay upwind.
KNOWING THE RIGHT OF WAYS
