For those with more paddling experience, an exhilarating downstream river float or long-distance downwinder from Porteau Cove to Squamish will get your heart racing. Wherever you choose to go, you will be sure to see nature in its full beauty and perhaps even catch a glimpse of some local wildlife from a comfortable view on the water.

Introduction to Canoeing & Navigation
Learn the basics of canoeing with us, and set of in the beautiful Howe sound! No prior experience necessary. If the wind is strong, canoeing skills can be developed in the Squamish Canal.
Course Details
This course covers all the basics of canoeing, from loading the canoe onto the crossbars of a vehicle and getting in and out of the canoe, to guiding you through your first paddle strokes and current crossings. Starting on dry land, we will go over water safety basics and how to set up your equipment. We will then take you into a calm waterway to go over position, team coordination, balance and paddling techniques. Based on your comfort we will then travel along calm waterways to explore the Howe Sound. This course is perfect for those who have never put foot in a canoe. This 2-hour course is weather dependent and includes all gear.

The River Run
Float down the Squamish River all the way back to town.
Tour Details
Join us on an adventure through the beautiful class 2 rapids of the Squamish River starting at Sunrise. This 3-4 hr trip starts early in the morning to enjoy calm, glassy waters. This River Run starts approximately 45 minutes North of Squamish, continues down around the Spit and finishes in downtown Squamish. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, waterfalls and wildlife. Depending on the season of your tour, you might see the largest population of bald eagles in the world feeding on the abundant fish of the Squamish River. This 4-hour experience includes approximately 2.5 hours of paddling down the river, necessary gear, guide and shuttle. The trip length and route are weather dependent, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed and a minimum of 3 participants are required to run the course. Basic paddling experience is necessary.

The Squamish Paddle Tour

Squamish Watersports located just off the sea to sky highway acts as a perfect gateway to the beautiful waters of the Howe Sound. This journey begins at our private marina in the protected channel that runs parallel to the skyline of the chief and squamish nation land. Enjoy Squamish wildlife where you will likely see the seals and otters that rest of the floating logs.

Depending on your ability and conditions in the envirinment we will be able to travel South for an open water adventure. Towards the powerful Shannon Falls or to feel the current at the base of the Squamish river.
Our facilities offer ease of access to the water and serene views of the squamish landscape.
