Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding
Learn the basics of balancing and paddling on a SUP, and increase your confidence and skills with our Watersports instructors! No prior paddling experience needed.
Course Details
This course covers all the basics of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding from getting on to the board to advanced paddling techniques. Starting on dry land, we will go over water safety basics and how to set up your equipment. We will then jump into a calm waterway to go over position, balance and paddling techniques. Based on your comfort we will then travel along calm waterways to explore the Howe Sound. This course is perfect for those who have never paddled, kayaked or SUP’ed. This 1-hour course is weather dependent and includes all gear.

Pack the SUP with everything you need to paddle or simply float down this beautiful riverway enjoying endless waterfalls, beautiful vegetation and spectacular mountain views. You might even get lucky and come down during our Salmon Runs where you have the potential of seeing thousands of Salmon rushing upstream to spawn.

Passing by the powerful Shannon Falls, you will likely see the seals and otters that rest of the floating logs and small islands in the channel as well as near Brittania Beach. Hop out to take a break on a private beach and perhaps even enjoy the warmer Ocean Waters that are located South of the Howe Sound.
